limited space

Making the most of small spaces:

At some point this year ill be moving into
a very very very very very tiny 'studio apartment'.
The thought of this makes me feel a panicky.
But then i remembered how ikea utilise small spaces
- can't find any pics -
So i started to Google images of good studio apartments.
most of the pics aren't actually of full 'studio' apartments
(can't bloody stand that term. its not studio. its a room
with a kitchenette and a bed and a shower room. A bedsit in fact.)
AND then i remembered that carrie has a kind of studio in SATC :)
She has an actual kitchen aswell as a living/bedroom - but its a step in the right direction.
work with what you have...or something.

aviator, autumn winter '10

This morning - and last night, in fact - there was condensation on our bedroom window. we Didin't have the heating on...but id say that means the chill is up and summer is turning to autumn. This makes me excited :) theres always a crisp snap of excitement i thee air, as we turn toward golden leaves, colder smells, Halloween, bonfire night and Christmas. i can already feel, this winter is going to be COLD! but then after winter, comes the spring :) and i cant wait for that.

ANYWAY

The point to this post is, I NEED TO MAKE MY AVIATOR JACKET NOW!! i posted about it months ago, after seeing Burberrys AW10 collection of luxy aviator jackets. i KNEW i needed one, but not being able to afford a couple of thousand, ill make my own.

so i need shearling and i need some faux leather/saude.
ill get on that
and get back to you.

I've got a photoshoot coming up on Monday
and iv been working flat out till 2 a.m
yesterday i decided 1) i deserve a break
2) tom needs to learn to cook cake properly
3) rainbow cake would DEFINITELY chivvy me up.

im not a very make up-ey kind of girl, i have mascara and liquid liner and thats about it.. not because i didnt want to wear it, but because i DIDNT UNDERSTAND. i went up to a benefit make up counter last year, and asked
''whats the difference between a liquid foundation and a powder?''
''....ones a liquid and ones a powder...?''
''obviously..but..whats the DIFFERENCE, why are there two?''
''because some people like powder and some dont?''

this is a company whos cheapest item costs around £15...i want the make up artists to know what theyre talking about! iv sinse found out that foundation is what makes your skin even and powder sets the foundation and keeps it in place. right. good.

you should allllll read this make up blog.. a well written, descriptive blog about everything to do with make up, perfume, etc and soon to come info on brushes, why we use foundation AND powder, how not to blend eye shadows etc, from a very knowledgeable girly.
tash isnt a make up artist, she hasnt been taught how to do things, shes learned through experience, which i think is better....she knows her stuff through memories of what works, not what shes been taught. check her out :)

amazing cakes

So, its my birthday on saturday and my mum always makes my cakes..we've had some pretty good ones in the past, my 18th was a cake with a burlesque dancer on it holding a popped champagne bottle...i think it MIGHT sound better than it is? but..it was cool :) and i liked it a LOT. So, a good month or so ago i was just browsing stuff when i came across, this cake:

AWESOME?? YYEESS!!! and then..i promptly forgot about it. until i remembered to show my mum two weeks ago who said ''pah, we can make that...have it for your birthday cake..'' SO yes...i want this cake, but less...corpsey, more cherry blossom :) so we went to an amaaazzing cake shop today..well, cake supply shop, if you live anywhere near Leamington spa, or Warwick or anything, this place has ALL your cake decorating needs covered..SRSLY. go.

anyway, im very excited about my cake now :D im going over to the farm *mums bfs farm* to do it tomorrow night...EEEEEEEEEEP :D cant wait to show you pics.
